Samsung’s sizable line-up of Galaxy tablets has just become a little larger with the launch on Friday of the Galaxy Tab 4 Education, essentially a modified version of its consumer-oriented Tab 4 device.

As its name cleverly suggests, this 10.1-inch slate is aimed at schools and, according to Samsung, has been created to address the unique needs of K-12 classrooms, “specifically durability, manageability, and access to digital learning resources.”

The $370 tablet, which was first announced back in January, is certainly a rugged-looking number which, with its chunky case and tough Corning Gorilla Glass, should be able to comfortably withstand all manner of classroom calamities.

The Android 4.4 KitKat device comes with a 1280 x 800 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage expandable to 64GB with a microSD card, 1.5GB of RAM, 10 hours of battery life, and rear- and front-facing cameras.

Optional accessories include a USB keyboard, AllShare Cast for wireless mirroring of content to displays, and charging carts for easy classroom storage.

Integrating with Google Play for Education, the new device gives educators the opportunity to make the most of a varied selection of teacher-approved apps, books and videos aimed at providing students with a more stimulating learning experience.

Samsung executive Tod Pike said the tablet is a step toward the company’s vision of empowering educators “with simple, intuitive management tools to foster a more interactive and effective learning environment.”

The company is also hoping its new education-focused slate will help it to establish itself in a fast-growing market, with US schools forecast to purchase around 3.5 million tablets this year alone.

Ordering the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6? Don’t miss this exclusive deal
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, with a red dial.

If you watched Samsung's Unpacked event a couple of days ago, you've seen the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and all their great improvements on the previous generation. Of course, they're both going to cost a pretty penny, but luckily we have an exclusive deal from Samsung that will get you an extra $50 at checkout; you just need to use our link. On top of that, Samsung has its own pre-order bonus, which adds a free fabric band with any purchase, plus you can get up to $250 off with eligible trade-ins.

Why you should pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6
The most visible changes to the new lineup of Galaxy Watches are the larger screens across the board, with the smaller frame having a 1.3-inch screen and the larger frame having a 1.5-inch screen. So, whether you go for the Watch 6 40mm, or the 44m Watch 6 Classic, you're still getting the 1.3-inch screen, which makes life a bit easier when picking which watch to go for. Another big bump is in the processing power, with the new Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic sporting the Exynos W930 processor, and Samsung claims it's 18% faster than the Watch 5 processors and will give you an overall snappier performance.

You may be able to get a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 nearly free
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 with its main display open.

Attention students, teachers, and eligible faculty, it may be possible for you to pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 for nearly free, thanks to a series of promotions and credits. That's right, at virtually no cost. Sound too good to be true? Well, it isn't, just listen up. You will need some ingenuity, thanks to Samsung's current enhanced trade-in values.

The Z Flip 4 has a trade-in value of $900 currently, which means Samsung will give you that amount in credit to put towards a new device. With the newest Z Flip 5 being priced at $1,000 that essentially eliminates most of the cost. How? Let's do the math. The actual price of the Z Flip 5 is $999.99, so with a Z Flip 4 trade-in, the price drops to $900. Then you can apply the educational discount of 10% off to lose another $10 -- dropping the final price to $90. But here's an even better point, you get a $50 reserve credit with your pre-order which can be used towards accessories. So, if you take advantage of this offer you're potentially paying next to nothing to get the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. How awesome is that? But wait! There's more. You'll also get a free storage upgrade with your pre-order, boosting the storage capacity in your new device, plus you can save on bundles -- getting discounts on the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Watch6, or Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
