Amazon Prime without a yearly commitment is now a reality if you’re a Sprint customer

Have you been putting off joining Amazon Prime because of the yearly fee? Sprint is hoping a lot of you feel the same way, and the carrier is offering its customers the chance to subscribe to the popular membership on a month-to-month basis without any further commitment.

All you have to do is add Amazon Prime to your Sprint account by either visiting www.sprint.com/amazonprime, calling 1-(800)-SPRINT1, or visiting your local Sprint store.

An additional $11 will be added to your monthly bill, which comes to $132 annualized. That’s an extra cost of $33 over the annual $99 price everyone else pays.

The service itself is exactly the same, which means that on top of free two-day shipping on most products and early access to Lighting Deals, you’ll also be able to stream tens of thousands of movies and TV episodes, including any Amazon original programming, with Prime Video. You’ll also get access to 1 million songs through Prime Music, as well as the Kindle Lending Library and unlimited photo storage in Amazon Cloud.

You can access Amazon Prime Video through select smart TVs or on some set-top boxes like Fire TV. You can also get the app on your Android phone or tablet, as well as the iPhone and iPad.

Although purchasing Amazon Prime through Sprint will cost you more over 12 months, it makes sense if you only want the service for certain times of year. Maybe you want the free two-day shipping around the holidays when you make more purchases or you might want to binge watch a particular show.

We’re not sure if this deal is enough of a reason for you to switch to Sprint, but considering the carrier is willing to give you up to $650 to cover the cost of dumping your current carrier, and the opportunity (though check the details) to save 50 percent off of your current AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon bill, it might be worth a look.

Why you should opt for slow shipping this Prime Day
Amazon worker packaging products.

It's hard to not get sucked into the capitalist vortex on Prime Day. Just look at those deals and try to keep your credit card in your wallet. But if you can't resist the urge to buy something, you should at least consider opting for slower shipping. it might sound silly, since Amazon offers free two-day shipping for Prime members, and foregoing this perk could seem like a waste of your monthly subscription fee. But hear me out -- just because you can get your items delivered in two days doesn't necessarily mean you should. Here are a few good reasons to consider opting for slower delivery:

The first and perhaps most urgent reason is the environmental benefits. Transportation remains America's top source of emissions, clocking in at 27%. Roughly a quarter of that comes from freight trucks like those used by Amazon, and 8% from planes. In the air, Amazon makes about 160 flights a day with its fleet. Once those flights have made their deliveries, Amazon's trucks will often take smaller, less efficient loads in order to meet two-day delivery times. After all, trucks can't wait around for more shipments to come in so they can make more stops.

Which Amazon Echo should you buy on Prime Day 2022?
Echo Show 15 with base.

There was a time when it was easy to choose which Amazon Echo device to buy because there wasn’t much of a selection. These days, Amazon has an entire stable of devices ready to respond and carry out your commands. That makes things a bit trickier for those who are looking to pick up their first (or add another) Echo device among Prime Day Amazon Echo deals. You can also review some of the best deals year round.

We’ve tested and tried each Echo device to find the best of the lot. This year, we think it’s the Echo Show 10. With its high-quality 360-degree speaker, a large screen, and the ability to pan around the room to double as a security camera or video conferencing dynamo, it’s a great all-around choice. Even so, depending on how you want to use an Echo Show and how much space you have, there’s certainly a case to be made for other Echo devices.
