Sanyo and Sprint today announced a new flip phone targeted towards users of the cellular provider’s wireless broadband network. The Sprint Power Vision MM-7500 is priced at $379.99 and should be available now.
The MM-7500 comes pre-loaded with two Themes, a new feature Sprint will be touting in 2006. These Themes allow customers to select custom skins for the phone’s standby screen, main menu and favorites. In some cases, associated multimedia such as ringers will be available for download.
Other features of the MM-7500 include interchangeable outside color accent plates, support for various multimedia services offered through Sprint’s broadband Power Vision Network, a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and digital zoom, video camcorder capability, dual internal and external displays, a rubber grip for easier holding and added protection, voice recorder and a weight of .3.7 ounces.
“This phone is for customers who demand a lot out of life, and demand it on the go,” said Oliver Valente, senior vice president of product development for Sprint. “The MM-7500 is a feature-rich phone that offers instant access to high-quality communication, entertainment, information and personalization services. It also represents an industry first, as the first phone of its kind to support Themes – allowing customers the ability to see, hear and experience the next generation of mobile phone personalization.”
