Tinder Boost is a premium option currently being tested in Australia (which is apparently the place the app conducts all its romantic experiments) that basically lets you jump the queue of eager users for a designated amount of time.
When you purchase a “boost” your profile will automatically be the first (or one of the first) people in your area see when they open the app, for an engagement-enhancing 30 minutes. That’s enough time to guarantee you 10 times more profile views, according to Tinder.
Boosts can be purchased at any time for $7.99 each, or in bundles of five for $31, and 10 for $47, reports Mashable. Not exactly an inviting set of price tags if you happen to be a millennial straddled with student debt. Then again, love can help you forget all your woes. Tinder describes the new feature as an extension of its core experience, “providing you a simple, fun introduction to new people nearby so you can get out and meet them in the real world.” If the idea of a profile boost has got you excited, then you’ll be glad to know that a worldwide rollout is planned for the near future.
