TuneIn announced a new service called TuneIn Premium. This shouldn’t be confused with TuneIn Pro, which gets rid of banner ads and allows you to record streams from the app. TuneIn Pro has a one-time charge, but TuneIn Premium is a monthly subscription.

Subscribers of TuneIn Premium can listen to all Major League Baseball games, Barclays Premier League and Bundesliga matches, more than 40,000 audiobooks, and over 600 commercial-free music stations for $8 per month in the U.S., $9 in Canada, or £6 in the U.K.

Updated on 10-12-2015 by Malarie Gokey: Added news that NFL games are now included in the premium subscription.

In October, TuneIn added NFL games to its list of sports broadcasts for the premium version. Home and away games for all 32 teams will be streamed live through the app. The NFL has its own TuneIn station, too, with commentary from NFL Network shows and podcasts. Of course, there won’t be any visuals to accompany the game broadcasts at first, but in November, there will be a live “look-in” show with news, stats, and clips from games that take place on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST.

The MLB package appears to be as solid as the MLB At Bat lineup. You will be able to listen to all home and away games, whether it be Spring Training, the regular season, or the postseason. In addition, MLB Fantasy 411, MLB Network Intentional Talk, The Vault, Express Written Consent, and official MLB podcasts will be available to all TuneIn users, not just Premium users.

Premium subscribers in the U.S. and Canada will also be able to listen to 1,000 play-by-play events in the Barclays Premier League. All events will be covered in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, with select coverage in Malay. Over 160 live matches of the Bundesliga league in English are also included, as well as all matches in German.

If sports isn’t your thing, than you might enjoy unlimited access to a library of over 40,000 audiobooks from Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Scholastic. Premium subscribers can also access 16 different language learning programs.

Of course, TuneIn’s claim to fame was its 100,000-plus library of radio stations, but listening to music with ads can be a big time bummer. Premium subscribers will get over 600 commercial-free music stations. These include many of the same broadcasters that TuneIn has always offered, but the company has partnered with select stations to play music instead of the commercials that free listeners hear. The app will pick music based on your listening interests.

You can signup for TunePremium with a free 30-day trial from TuneIn.com, the iOS app, or the Android app.

Before you head to the app store on your phone to buy a voice-recording app, take a moment to consider the apps that may already be installed on your phone. Why? In my experience, they're likely all you really need. I’ve recorded interviews and voice-overs for work for years, and I’ve found the two best examples come preinstalled on your phone already, so they’re entirely free to use.

Google Pixel Tablet just got its first big discount and it’s worth a look
Google Pixel Tablet on its charging dock.

Tablets are a dime-a-dozen these days, with offerings from all the great brands including Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, and more. So, if you really want to stand out in a sea of similar tech, you need to do things a little differently. That's what Google's Pixel Tablet offers. How? It comes with a unique speaker dock that can be used to both charge the device and offer room-filling sound -- almost like a smart speaker add-on. Better yet, when your Pixel Tablet is docked it benefits from the Hub Mode, turning the device into a smart display, with digital photo frame support, smart home controls, and hands-free Google functionality. Of course, it could set you back at full price, normally $499 unless you find it included in a roundup of the best Google Pixel deals. Well, guess what? Thanks to a Best Buy Google Pixel Tablet deal, you can get it today for $439 and save $60. Hurry, though, it's part of Best Buy's recent 48-hour sale so it won't stick around for long.

Why you should buy the Google Pixel Tablet
Okay, okay, so in our Google Pixel Tablet review, Joe Maring did give it less than stellar remarks, but he called out its reliable fingerprint sensor, comfortability during use and excellent speaker dock. Honestly, how many tablets come with a matching speaker dock that transforms the entire experience? This tablet also marks a "lot of firsts" for Google, as it's the first tablet from the company in nearly five years, the first Android tablet in eight years, and can be converted into a smart home display with the speaker dock. All of which are notable milestones.
