Vine, the popular video sharing service, has updated its iOS app to include better search results. By heading on over to the Explore tab, users will now be able to browse through Top or Recent posts.

The new update comes a day after Vine landed on the Apple Watch. As of right now, the update is only available on iOS, but the company says the feature will be available for Android in the coming weeks.

Vine was also updated last Friday to include notifications when users comment or Revine a video you’ve Revined. Of course, users still have the ability to search for people or hashtags, but now they can see Vines from the search results page.

Back in 2012, Vine was founded by Dom Hofmann, Rus Yusupov, and Colin Kroll. Vine was then acquired by Twitter for a reported $30 million. Five months after launching on iPhone, Twitter released Vine for Android. Twitter also revealed that Vine had attracted 13 million users, but did not say whether they were monthly active users or all registered users.

Vine for Android has many of the features that more than 13 million people have grown to love: easy video creation with automatic playback and sound; Explore, where you can discover popular posts and see what’s trending; and Find Friends, where you can find and invite people you know to join,” explained Android engineer Sara Haider.

Back in January 2015, Vine launched Vine Kids, an app that offers video loops for children. The app includes interactive features so children can swipe to see new videos and hear various sounds. However, the Vine Kids is only available for iOS.

If you haven’t yet, you can download Vine from the App Store here.

I created the perfect iOS 18 Control Center
Someone holding an iPhone 16, showing the Control Center.

Apple's iOS 18 update is a big one. You can tint and change the colors of your app icons, freely place apps/widgets on your home screen, customize your lock screen controls, and more. There's a lot to dig into.

One of the other big features is the ability to fully customize the Control Center, and admittedly, I've largely ignored it since I downloaded the iOS 18 beta months ago. But last Friday after work, I took some time to dive headfirst into the Control Center on my iPhone 16 and completely rearrange it. After about 30 minutes of tinkering with things, I think I created the perfect Control Center setup.

Satellite messaging features on an iPhone with iOS 18.

Florida is preparing for Hurricane Milton's arrival on Wednesday. As the storm approaches, here's a valuable tip for iPhone users in its path.

Before the storm's arrival, it's crucial to download iOS 18 on your iPhone. With this version of iOS 18 installed, you immediately gain access to Apple's new Messages via satellite feature. The new feature lets you send and receive text messages without cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. This means you can stay connected with friends, family, and emergency services even in areas where power might be lost.
