Bamboo Paper is now available to those with tablets running Android and Kindle Fire OS, as well as Windows 8 tablets, desktops, or laptops. Just like FiftyThree’s Paper, the Bamboo Paper app offers users a series of notebooks for all your needs. You can sketch in one, write notes in another, and paint digital masterpieces in a third. It also offers in-app purchases of drawing tools, fancy notebooks, and brushes.
Ordinarily, these in-app purchases rack up quickly and turn the free app into an expensive one. However, in honor of its expansion to new platforms, Wacom is offering the premium tool sets, brushes and notebooks for free when you download the drawing and note-taking app. Normally, these tools are quite expensive, so if you’re interested in really trying the app out, it’s best to download all those brushes while you still can.
Wacom also mentioned that it’s working on a specific computer language that will ensure that the app works the same way on all three platforms regardless of the operating system’s capabilities. The company calls this project WILL a.k.a the Wacom Ink Layer Language. WILL should also make it easier to share notebooks, drawings, and other creations between devices that are running on different platforms. That way, you can start jotting down a few notes on your iPad and then move to your Windows 8 laptop or desktop PC.
Although Bamboo Paper works with most styli, Wacom recommends its own series of styli for best results. The app is already available for download on the Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore, and the Windows Store.
