Set to air on FX in October, Hotel will be the latest in the series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (GLEE). Unlike traditional shows, American Horror Story acts as a sort of anthology – a miniseries whereby each season is a self-contained story full of horrors, witches, criminals, and freak shows. Launched in 2011, the show was FX’s most successful first season and pulled the largest cable audience among time-shifting viewers, according to Nielsen.
Peters – a fan favorite – has appeared in all four previous seasons of the show, and will be given a new role in season five, joining other previously-announced cast members. This includes a stellar lineup of newbies — pop singer Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer (White Collar), and Cheyenne Jackson (GLEE) — and the return of actors who appeared in previous seasons: Sarah Paulson (American Gothic), Kathy Bates (Misery), Chloe Sevigny (Big Love), and Wes Bentley (American Beauty). This will also notably be the first season that won’t include Jessica Lange. Other notable actors who appeared in previous seasons of the show include Dylan McDermott, Zachary Quinto, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Michael Chiklis.

In season one, Peters played Tate, one of two of Lange’s character’s children who reside in a restored mansion who interact with the new residents, and encounter ghosts among them. In season two, he played supposed serial killer Kit Walker; and in season three, Kyle Spencer, the head of a fraternity. In the last season, he played Jimmy Darling, a member of a freak show troupe who’s born with syndactyly, a condition whereby two or more digits are fused together. What crazy role will he take on for season five? Whatever it is, he’s bound to kill it once again.
In addition to his work on American Horror Story, 28-year-old Peters is best know for his roles in ABC sci-fi series Invasion, a supporting role in the superhero flick Kick-Ass, and as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
