Moviegoers will get to savor every juicy minute of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when the film opens in theaters in March. The DC Comics superhero flick’s run time has been revealed by AMC Theaters, and it’s a long one: two hours and 31 minutes.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s run time doesn’t differ vastly from those of other recent films based on DC Comics characters. For example, 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises runs for two hours and 44 minutes, and 2013’s Man of Steel, which shares a director with Batman v Superman (Zack Snyder), isn’t far behind at two hours and 23 minutes. Snyder is also the filmmaker behind Watchmen, a superhero flick with a run time of two hours and 42 minutes.

Considering its context, Batman v Superman‘s run time isn’t surprising. Additionally, there’s the fact that it unites a number of superheroes: It’s the first live-action movie to bring together both Batman and Superman, and on top of that, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash all appear.

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the two legendary superheroes’ worlds collide in the aftermath of Batman’s massive battle that leveled the city of Metropolis. Batman (played by Ben Affleck) will seek out the superhero responsible, and epic action will ensue after he and Superman (Henry Cavill) come face to face. Another threat will emerge as well, along with numerous other superheroes. The cast includes Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg), plus Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), and more.

The script was written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer and is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.

The Flash is upon us, and what a stellar collision course of DC cinematic worlds it truly is. Just as the promotional material promised, we not only see Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) headline his own film as the Scarlet Speedster, but we'd also get a glimpse into DC's own version of the multiverse. This has already occurred on the Marvel side of things on a few occasions including the Disney+ series Loki and films like Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even the latest animated adventure for the web-slinger takes us on a trek through multiple universes in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While we're entreated to a return of Michael Keaton's Batman and a look at a modern take on Supergirl, there's a growth story at the core of this film that sees Barry ultimately challenge his own desires to change the past with the idea that his own personal tragedies forged the person that he has become. There's so much to love in The Flash, but let's break down a few of the best moments within its 2-hour and 24-minute runtime.

Why Michael Keaton is the best Batman ever

The biggest compliment I can give Michael Keaton is that he single-handedly saves The Flash from being the mediocre train wreck it would be without his presence. Keaton steps back into Batman's boots with surprising and confident ease, playing a natural progression to the character he last played in Tim Burton's masterful 1992 sequel, Batman Returns. In fact, it seems like no time has passed since the last time we saw him as Batman.

Keaton wasn't the first actor to play Batman -- that honor goes to Lewis G. Wilson, who played the Caped Crusader in the 1945 Columbia Pictures serial. However, Keaton is by far the best live-action version of Batman, mainly because he understands he is playing two characters at once. And while other worthy actors have donned the cape and cowl - Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, and most recently, Robert Pattinson - none have matched Keaton's unique ability to make Batman seem real.

How to watch the DC movies in order

DC movies are in a weird place right now. Four of the DC Extended Universe films are being released this year, and two of them, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, have already hit theaters. What makes it strange is that the DCEU as we know it is going to come to an end with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December 2023. In 2025, James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios films will start the new DC Universe with Superman: Legacy, which will be a true fresh start for the franchise.

Where does that leave fans of the DCEU? All of those DC movies are still on Max (formerly HBO), and those films aren't going anywhere unless Warner Bros. Discovery really wants another huge tax break. That means you can watch any and all of them at a moment's notice, except for The Flash which has only just hit theaters. As for the rest, you have two options to watch them in order: Chronologically or by release date. And in this post, we'll give you the correct order for both.
