Somehow, Nora Ephron’s classic romance Sleepless in Seattle has yet to go out of style. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star as opposite sides of a romantic pairing that rarely actually has any scenes together in the movie. Despite that risk, one can’t help but fall in love as the two main characters find love in the most unexpected places on other sides of the country. They just don’t make tearjerker feel-good movies like this anymore.

With the release of Creed III, the Rocky universe seemingly spans an unlimited volume of titles. They all call back to the original, though. In 1976, Sylvester Stallone starred as the titular boxer, who takes full advantage of his opportunity to compete one time on the world’s biggest stage, fighting heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Besides starting a franchise that shows no signs of slowing down, the film also immortalized the “Rocky Steps” in Philadelphia, epic training montages and rags-to-riches stories in movies. It also won Best Picture as the Academy Awards.

During the rare times that Adam Sandler gets serious, his performances get much better. Following his turn in Uncut Gems, Sandler stars in Hustle. While this Netflix original film feels at times like a chance for Sandler to simply hang out with people involved in the sport he loves, it tells a heartfelt story about an NBA scout at a crossroads in life when he stumbles upon the best-kept secret in basketball. The film stars real NBA player Juancho Hernangomez, who could have a career in Hollywood when his playing days are over. Fellow player Anthony Edwards also has a significant role. This feel-good story has a lot of dark turns and isn’t for young viewers, but seeing Sandler and Hernangomez’s characters try to rise above their faults is a satisfying experience.

As it turns out, Harp is really into the local horse riding subculture, and he clearly loves his horses more than most of the people in his life. Although Cole has an affinity for one of the more difficult horses, he’s more drawn to his cousin, Smush (Jharrel Jerome). Smush was once a rider himself, but he turned to dealing drugs in order to fund his escape from the city. Ultimately, Cole will have to choose between following his father’s example or his cousin’s darker path.
