Disney releases a teaser for its Tomorrowland trailer that will air during the Super Bowl

Walt Disney Pictures has been impressively stingy when it comes to revealing many details about Tomorrowland, its upcoming film about a mysterious place where science has made the fantastic all too real, but a teaser the studio released for the movie’s next trailer (which is the way things are done now, apparently) suggests that we may learn more about the film during this weekend’s Super Bowl.

The 10-second preview sets up a brief sequence of footage with George Clooney asking, “What if there was a place where nothing was impossible?” What follows is a series of scenes in which star Britt Robertson is seen touching a small pin that instantly transports her to the sci-fi city filled with jetpack-wearing people zipping about through the sky and all manner of architecture that would seem at home in an episode of The Jetsons.

Directed by two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird, Tomorrowland follows a former boy-genius inventor (Clooney) and a curious teenager (Robertson) as they attempt to unearth the secrets of the enigmatic place known as “Tomorrowland.”

The film was written by Bird and Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof, and hits theaters May 22. The full Super Bowl trailer will air at some point during the game on Sunday.

The best Super Bowl 2022 commercials
Mike Myers as Doctor Evil in a Super Bowl ad.

Super Bowls get the best TV ads. It's just a fact that advertisers put more time and effort into their Super Bowl commercials because they know that this is the television event of the year, one of the last remaining broadcast programs that can attract around 100 million people at the same time. It transcends even the sport of football itself since people love to watch for the ads alone. So the pressure is always on to come up with something funny and memorable that also makes viewers want to buy the product. That's never an easy trick to pull off, but there were definitely some worthy additions this year. And now, you can find them all in one place within our roundup of the best Super Bowl 2022 commercials.
Evil Is Back For Good

Austin Powers' greatest villains are back in General Motors' newest Super Bowl ad. Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) refuses to be the second-most dangerous threat to the world. That's because Number 2 (Rob Lowe), Frau Farbissina (Mindy Sterling), and Scott Evil (Seth Green) have convinced him that the world needs to be saved from emissions before he can take it over. It's goofy, but the cast seamlessly slips right back into their characters after nearly 20 years away.
