The rivals for the Iron Throne take a long walk in 'Game of Thrones' season 7 trailer

Brace yourselves, Game of Thrones fans. It might seem like you’ve been waiting ages, but season 7 is indeed on the way.

HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming, penultimate season of the hit series based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, and the preview of the seventh season brings all three of the main characters vying for control of the Iron Throne together for one dramatically extended stroll. So it’s fitting, really, that the trailer is titled “Long Walk.”

Featured in the new trailer are Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and Jon Snow (Kit Harington), the three characters who — essentially by virtue of surviving this long in the series’ gratuitously violent climate — are the chief rivals for the Iron Throne and the kingdom of Westeros. The trailer also teases the looming threat of the White Walkers, with Cersei exhaling a cloud of frozen breath as the camera pans out to reveal the eye of The Night King, the leader of the White Walkers.

Set to premiere July 16 on HBO, the new season of Game of Thrones will run just seven episodes instead of the usual 10, and will feature a supporting cast that also includes regulars Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Newcomers for the upcoming season include Jim Broadbent and Tom Hopper, among others.

Little is know about the direction in which the seventh season will take the series, but it is expected to draw some plot points from the upcoming sixth and seventh novels of Martin’s series, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

The final season of the series is expected to premiere in 2018.

The Last of Us episode 9 trailer teases an explosive season one finale

One of 2023's most acclaimed shows is almost over. After a terrific run of episodes, The Last of Us will conclude its first season with an explosive finale this Sunday night. In the episode 9 trailer, Joel (The Mandalorian season 3’s Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey) make their final trek to Salt Lake City to meet up with a group of Fireflies who may be able to create a cure for the Cordyceps infection. As Ellie says to Joel in the footage, "There's no halfway with this. We finish what we started."

Fans of the video games will notice a familiar face in the episode 9 trailer. Ashley Johnson, who portrayed Ellie in the video games, will play Anna, Ellie's mother, in episode 9. The tense footage shows Anna writhing in pain as she tries to stave off an infected woman.

Tetris trailer reveals how the puzzle game became a worldwide hit

Apple TV+, AI Film, and Marv Studios have released the first official trailer for Tetris ahead of the film's March 31 release on Apple's streaming service. It follows the adventures of Henk Rogers as he attempts to secure distribution rights to Tetris, an excellent puzzle game that became one of the most popular games ever.
The trailer follows Rogers as he discovers the game and tries to obtain the rights to Tetris, which was developed in the waning years of the USSR. We see Henk, one of the first people outside of Nintendo to see the GameBoy, describing the mental "Tetris effect" he gets from playing it, and outsmarting the Soviet Union so Tetris can be a pack-in title for the handheld system.

Anyone who knows the complicated story behind Tetris' worldwide success will recognize many of the trailer's best moments, while those who don't know the backstory will learn a lot and appreciate the 1980s aesthetic of it all.

Tetris is directed by Jon S. Baird and written by Noah Pink. It stars Taron Egerton as Henk Rogers, Nikita Yefremov as Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, along with Toby Jones, Roger Allam, Anthony Boyle, Togo Igawa, Ken Yamamura, Ben Miles, Matthew Marsh, and Rick Yune. While video game adaptations are becoming more common, it'll be exciting to see what this creative talent can bring to a game-related biopic.
Tetris will hit Apple TV+ on March 31. And if you want to play the version of the game this film's plot is centered around, the Game Boy version of Tetris is included with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
