If you missed the premiere of HBO’s two newest comedy series, Ballers and The Brink, you’ll be able to watch them for free on Facebook for a limited time. It’s the first time HBO is offering free access to full episodes of its programming on the social media platform in order to drum up interest both in the new shows and its recently-launched streaming service HBO Now. HBO will gain huge awareness for its Ballers (and HBO Now), which is hosted on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Facebook page with nearly 50 million followers. The Brink doesn’t have the same social clout on the service, with just 23,000 followers.

Ballers, which has Johnson as the star and exec producer, takes a dive into the lives of former and current football players. Based in Miami, “The Rock” stars as a retired defensive end who helps fellow football players with business ventures. While creator Steve Levinson (Entourage) depicts glitz and glamor, it also shows a world of former NFL players figuring out what to do next.

The Brink, created by Weeds‘ Roberto Benabib, is a bit more of shot in the dark. Set in Pakistan, the satire features a diplomat (Jack Black), a Cabinet official (Tim Robbins), and a Navy fighter pilot (Pablo Schreiber) trying to make sense of a geopolitical crisis. HBO brands it as a ‘dark comedy,’ and Benabib has said Dr. Strangelove was an inspiration. It’s a political comedy, although one that is set with potential world decimation as its premise sounds a little more depressing than funny.

The partnership, which comes on the heels of the network’s over-the-top streaming service launched in April, also promotes the cord-cutting HBO Now. Both series premieres mention in a short intro tailored for Facebook that upcoming episodes will be available to watch on the service (as well as on the premium cable network). The stand-alone service is available for $15 per month through Apple and Cablevision Optimum Online.

While this is the first time HBO has made a full episode available on Facebook, the network has has released free premieres of shows on YouTube (Girls, The Newsroom) and even Yahoo Screen (The Leftovers) in the past.

Are you missing Barry already? Then watch these TV shows that are just like it
Bill Hader in HBO's Barry in a prison uniform on a payphone.

After four seasons, the critically acclaimed HBO Max show Barry has finally come to an end, leaving fans with a giant hitman-sized hole in their TV viewing schedules. The dark comedy crime drama was a perfect mix of humor and murderous rage. Bill Hader stars as a former U.S. Marine and hitman who accidentally ends up in an acting class taught by a man who would become crucial to his life, Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler). What ensues is a wild ride with a criminal wanting to leave the business once he finds a potential new path that invigorates him. But there’s one problem: he has bad guys hunting him down, and none of his new friends know his true identity.

Sound familiar? That’s because the premise shares similarities with other popular shows. If you haven’t seen any of these but you love Barry, they’re all worth a watch.

Heat is one of the best movies ever. Here’s why you should watch it on Netflix right now
Three men stand and get ready to fight in Heat.

There's a reason why Netflix has a reputation as being the best streaming service out there. It consistently streams some of the best TV shows around, with this year alone bringing such wonderful and diverse programs as Beef, The Night Agent, The Diplomat, and Queen Charlotte. It's movies, however, are more hit-or-miss. For every Oscar-nominated The Power of the Dog, there are a half-dozen Extractions or Red Notices, bland, forgettable movies that don't have any lasting effect on the viewer beyond their initial debut.

That probably explains why Heat, a movie made nearly 30 years ago, is one of the most popular movies on Netflix right now, ranking in the top 10 for the last two weeks. The Al Pacino/Robert De Niro action drama, which was praised when it was first released in December 1995, has stood the test of time not only due to its stellar acting, pitch-perfect direction, beautiful cinematography, and moody score, but also because it's simply one of the best movies ever made. That's a lofty claim to make, sure, but it's one that is justified. If you've already watched Heat, or have not ever heard of it and are curious to watch the Michael Mann film, here are a few reasons why it's worth a stream.
Heat has a great story that is both simple and sprawling

You can now watch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at home
The poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Ant-Man is tired of being the comic relief. After playing a surprisingly pivotal role in Avengers: Endgame, he's back in his own high-stakes adventure to take on Kang, the time-traveling super villain from the Loki TV series, who seems to be at the center of the next phase of Marvel movies and shows. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sees Scott Lang's whole family travel to the quantum realm, a trippy, sub-atomic, CGI-heavy dimension.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is one of the newest Marvel films. Only Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 is newer. Disney has just released the movie for streaming online, with almost no strings attached. All you need is a Disney+ subscription. Read on to see all your options for streaming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania today.
