Take an evening stroll with Jessica Jones in new Netflix teaser

Marvel's Jessica Jones - Evening Stroll - Only on Netflix [HD]
The follow-up to Netflix and Marvel Studios’ Daredevil series premieres next month, and so far Jessica Jones is looking like another intriguing spin on a popular Marvel character.

In the latest trailer for Jessica Jones, we’re given a glimpse of the superpowers that once made the title character a force to be reckoned with in Marvel’s live-action cinematic universe.

Titled “Evening Stroll,” the brief teaser features Krysten Ritter as the series’ title character, taking a walk down a New York City street late at night. After looking around a bit, she jumps into the sky and lands on a balcony far above the street. The window near the balcony has a signed posted that reads “Alias Investigations, 5th Floor.”

Jessica Jones casts Ritter as a former superhero whose life was upended after tragedy brought an end to her superhero aspirations. Now faced with a battle against inner demons as dangerous as any external threats, she tries to rebuild her life by opening up a private investigation agency that handles cases involving superhuman abilities.

Along with Ritter, the series stars Doctor Who alum David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, as well as Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. Melissa Rosenberg (TwilightDexter) serves as the series’ showrunner.

Jessica Jones is the second of four 13-episode series set in Marvel’s cinematic universe that will premiere on Netflix. Daredevil was the first of the series to premiere, and it will be followed by Jessica Jones next month, then Luke Cage and Iron Fist next year. All four series will then blend together in a limited series titled The Defenders premiering at a later date. Daredevil was one of the most popular original series to premiere on Netflix in recent years and earned rave reviews from critics and general audiences alike.

All 13 episodes of the series will premiere Nov. 20, 2015, at 12:01 a.m. PT on Netflix.

Enter the world of The Sandman in Netflix’s new trailer
Tom Sturridge as Morpheus stands with his back to the camera in an image from the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman.

In the late '80s and early '90s, writer Neil Gaiman and an assortment of artists collaborated on The Sandman comic book series, which helped redefine the medium for mature readers. It has taken the better part of three decades to bring this fantasy story to live-action, but the wait is almost over. Netflix has announced that the series will finally premiere this summer.

To go along with the news, Netflix dropped a new teaser trailer for the series which reveals how Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) was captured over a century ago. This was no small feat, since Morpheus is the King of Dreams and one of the Endless. Once Morpheus is freed, he finds himself somewhat unprepared for the mortal realm. And his own realm, the Dreaming, has been dying without his presence.

Netflix’s new ‘mystery box’ aims to help kids find new shows
Children watching TV.

Netflix has launched a new “mystery box” feature aimed at helping kids to find new shows to watch on its streaming service.

Much like the “play something” button that Netflix added to its service last year to help adults quickly find fresh content instead of wasting time endlessly scrolling, the new kids-focused feature diverts the little ones to new content that Netflix’s algorithms thinks they’ll enjoy.

Two new teasers set the stage for Netflix’s Resident Evil
Ella Balinska in Resident Evil.

The Resident Evil franchise has spawned seven live-action films, a few anime movies, and even an animated series on Netflix. What's left to explore nearly three decades after the first Resident Evil video game debuted? That's the question to be answered by Netflix's upcoming Resident Evil live-action series. It's completely unconnected to every adaptation that came before it, and it has a modernized explanation about how the world went to Hell.

In the first of two teasers released today, Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick) explains the benefits of the Umbrella Corporation's wonder drug, Joy. Albert claims that Joy is "an antidepressant that cures OCD, lowers anxiety, and increases focus." There's just one major problem: Joy is made with the T-Virus, which turns humans into monstrous zombies. Not that Umbrella would ever let that get in the way of making a profit.
