Summertime has been a super jam-packed release window for Apple TV+. Through both June and July, the platform seemed to unveil new movies and shows nearly every week, and while August is seeing a bit of a wind-down for new content, that just means you’ll have some extra time to catch up on all the episodes of Prehistoric Planet you’ve been meaning to indulge in.
As always, it’s our job to keep you in the Apple TV+ loop, and while August 2023 will only bring two new seasons of both Physical and Invasion, in terms of new releases, all sources point toward a very active Autumn 2023. But fall is still several weeks away, so let’s focus on what’s new on Apple TV+ for summer’s final chapter.

Physical (2021)
The third and final season of Physical lands on Apple TV+ this month, and the Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) vehicle looks to go out in a blaze of glory. Picking up where the previous season left off, aerobics instructor Sheila Rubin (Byrne) is on the steadfast path to recovery, and her workout program is gaining worldwide acclaim. But a new foe waits in the wings: one Kelly Kilmartin, played by Zooey Deschanel. Looking to expand her own brand, Kilmartin’s foray into the world of fitness presents serious challenges for Sheila. The ten-episode final season premieres on August 2.
Invasion (2021)
Invasion takes a very familiar kind of story (extraterrestrials attempting to harvest our planet) and bends the narrative lens in multiple directions. Focusing on several character perspectives across several continents, the first season of the show delivered a mesmerizing blend of epic set pieces, balanced by plenty of raw human emotion. Now fans of the Simon Kinberg/David Weil are getting a whole new chapter with the release of the show’s second season later this month. Golshifteh Farahani, Shamir Anderson, Shioli Kutsuna, and Billy Barratt will all be reprising their first-season roles, but the writers are set to introduce a whole new lineup of characters. We may also get a little more information about the omnipotent aliens and their plans for humanity. The second season of Invasion hits Apple TV+ on August 23.

Foundation (2021)
Based on Issac Asimov’s book series of the same name, Foundation returns to Apple TV+ on July 14 for its second season. The series follows the titular group of heroes, the last remaining hope for humanity who must go up against the ruthless Galactic Empire to restore peace to the dystopian world.
With all kinds of revelations unearthed at the end of the first season, as well as a few time jumps, the second run of episodes kicks off a century later and finds the wretched Brother Day (Lee Pace) of the Empire readying for war against the Foundation. Packed with big-budget visuals and an excellent cast, Foundation is a show you simply don’t want to miss.
The Beanie Bubble (2023)
Ah yes, Beanie Babies. The tiny stuffed animals that took the world by storm in the ‘90s quickly became a collector must-have and a pop-culture sensation for the ages. Fast forward nearly three decades later, and now we’re getting a movie called The Beanie Bubble about the little creatures.
No, it’s not an animated journey as you’d expect, but it’s rather a live-action rags-to-riches tale about one Ty Warner (Zach Galifianakis), a struggling toy salesman who joins forces with three businesswomen (played by Cocaine Bear‘s Elizabeth Banks, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Sarah Snook) to launch the Beanie Babies. But when capitalism and grandeur come knocking, who will be left standing? Look for The Beanie Bubble on July 28.

Have you seen the trailer for Martin Scorsese’s long-awaited Killers of the Flower Moon adaptation? It looks incredible! The film hits theaters in October and should hit Apple TV+ soon after. There’s also a new series called Firebug that doesn’t have an official release date yet but is based on true events and follows a detective as he hunts down a pair of serial arsonists. The series is set to star Taron Egerton.
