What’s new on Paramount+ in August 2023

Depending upon which tier you subscribe to, Paramount+ can be a very different experience. The standard tier is the Paramount+ that you remember, including original shows and classic movies interrupted by commercials. The highest tier, Paramount+ with Showtime, offers more movies and more original shows, including the seventh season of the acclaimed Showtime series, The Chi and Billions. But if you want more, you’ll have to pay more.

All tiers of Paramount+ will get to stream films like Gone Baby Gone, Rudy, Sicario, The Running Man, and The Truman Show. Additionally, since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is coming to theaters in August, Paramount+ is bringing the first three live-action films and the first TMNT animated movie back to streaming.

Peacock doesn't always have the top movie titles of any given year. But in 2023, Peacock has the biggest hit of the year: The Super Mario Bros. Movie. If you haven't seen it in theaters dozens of times with your children, then be prepared for it to be on repeat for any child who ever loved Nintendo's famous plumber.

Having that title certainly gives Peacock bragging rights for the month of August. Also this month, Animal House, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and more return to Peacock, and they're terrific films. But keep in mind that some titles are only available to stream on the Peacock's paid tiers.

Go ahead and name some of your favorite TV shows of the last year or two. I'll bet that many of them are from Apple TV+. The streaming service might not have as big a catalog as some of the others, but Apple TV+ is continuously releasing quality TV shows. From Severance to Ted Lasso, Shrinking to Silo, Apple TV+ is a leader in genres like sci-fi and comedy.
