Sorry, not sorry: Orange is the New Black season 3 trailer is here

Orange Is The New Black - Season 3 - Official Trailer [HD]
How bad-ass has Piper become now? The trailer for the third season of popular Netflix original series Orange is the New Black has been released, and boy, it’s a doozy.

From black eyes to new (and returning?) inmates, bouts of tears, philosophical ramblings, fights, threats, and wait, why is Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) in plainclothes? It’s bound to be yet another exciting season. Sorry, not sorry, seems to be theme. And that, as regular viewers know, could be interpreted in a number of ways.

The show’s premise is based on the real-life story of average, pretty-blonde city girl Piper Kerman – a self-described WASP – who spent a year in a women’s prison after canoodling with the wrong girl and getting mixed in a money laundering scheme. The title character, Piper Chapman, is played by Taylor Schilling, and the female love interest played by Laura Prepon (That 70s Show.) Naturally, Piper doesn’t quite fit in with the rough-around-the-edges inmates, who have been locked up for everything from drugs, to theft, and other petty crimes. Piper just isn’t quite cut from the same cloth. Though a few months in prison has certainly rattled the young woman.

RelatedWhen it comes to piracy, Orange is the New Black is the new Game of Thrones

True to earlier confirmations, Jason Biggs, who played Chapman’s fiancé in the first two seasons, is nowhere to be seen in the trailer for season 3. But all our lovable favourites are back for more, including “Crazy Eyes” (Uzo Aduba), “Taystee” (Danielle Brooks), Poussey (Samira Wiley), “Red” (Kate Mulgrew), and even the troubled and lonely-yet-caring Assistant to the Warden, Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow). Interestingly,  we see far more of other inmates in the trailer than we do of Piper herself.

When we left the prison crew at the end of season 2 last year, (spoiler alert), villain Vee was run down by a dying Rosa, who clearly wanted to leave her mark before passing on by cleaning up house for her girls. What drama will face them next?

There are still a few months to go, though, before you can check in on Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, and the rest of the female jailbird crew – the entire season will be available for your streaming pleasure starting June 12.

Black Mirror season 6 trailer unleashes new nightmares
Aaron Paul in Black Mirror season 6.

What is the Black Mirror? It's your phone when it's turned off, or your monitor when it's unattended. Most of the time, it's brightly lit and if you're reading this now, then you're currently looking at it. It's an abyss, and sometimes it stares back at you. As for the Black Mirror TV series, think of it as a modern-day Twilight Zone without the redemptive stories. This show presents social media and technological horrors that can make your skin crawl with very few fantastical touches. But as you can see in the first full trailer for Black Mirror season 6, this is a series where reality is subjective at best.

Ted Lasso season 3 ending, explained

It still hasn’t been confirmed if season 3 is Ted Lasso’s last. But if the finale is any indication, this is indeed the case. While there’s an opportunity for spin-offs, the story Jason Sudeikis says he wanted to tell for this character has been told. And the way the season ended suggests that the character, at least, has hung up his whistle.

Every main character went on a satisfying journey of personal and emotional growth, and each comes out better for it in the end.
