AMC Networks is running a beta test of a new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service called Shudder, offering all horror, all the time, reports Variety.

Viewers who previously signed up for access can now get access to full-length, ad-free movies in the creepy genre. AMC is offering the first two months free, after which it will run for $5/mo., or $50 for a full year’s worth of screams.

Presently, there are more than 200 movies available, including cult favorites originating in countries like Korea and Sweden, like A Tale of Two Sisters and Let the Right One In. If you’re in a particular horror mood, you can narrow your search by specifics, like movies with bloodsuckers (No Twilight here), or collections like “urban decay.”

Beta testers looking to get their horror fix on their computer can stream 24/7 feeds at Shudder.tv. Eventually, Shudder.tv will be available on mobile devices, too, through apps that are promised to launch “in the near future.”

The beta is currently only available to invited testers, but AMC hopes to eventually launch Shudder to more users, and make it accessible through various TV streaming devices. Right now, if you dare visit the website, you’ll be greeted by an uber-creepy black screen and and approaching figure, along with the chance to enter your e-mail address to be notified “when the fear becomes real.”

The technology behind Shudder is powered Dramafever, an online video platform that became a subsidiary of Softbank in 2014. Launched in 2009, DramaFever claims to be a “leading online destination for the best TV shows and movies from around the world.” Key to the library is a selection of Korean dramas, Latin American Telenovelas, and Asian TV shows and movies.

Herbert West in "Re-Animator."

Though the 1980s were a terrific time for science-fiction films, there were a few members of the genre that didn't get the recognition they deserve and faded into relative obscurity. The best twist endings in horror movies, ranked
Dr. Malcolm and Cole looking down in The Sixth Sense.

There are few things better than a great twist ending. That's especially true in the horror genre, where so much of a movie's thrill comes from the film subverting what audiences may be expecting from it.

It can be hard, though, to actually deliver on a twist that is both surprising and inevitable. Any great twist should feel obvious, but only in retrospect, and it should probably be something we haven't seen before. From The Sixth Sense to Scream 6, twist endings are a staple of the genre. These are the best twists that horror movies have ever produced.

All the Scream horror movies, ranked from worst to best
A masked person walks towards the camera in Scream VI.

Early reviews for Scream VI are lauding it as a new peak for the veteran franchise and the best entry since the game-changing 1996 original. Coming from the one-of-a-kind mind of the late great Wes Craven, Scream is the rare franchise that never runs out of steam. Thanks to a premise designed to reinvent itself with each new entry, Scream is the gift that keeps on giving, to the point where it wouldn't be an overstatement to say every chapter in the series is among the all-time best horror movies.

While every entry in the series ranges from "good" to "great," we can still rank them from worst to best. No fan's ranking will look the same; some might be OG Scream purists, while others will insist 2022's Scream is the new blueprint. However, we can all admit there are no weak entries in this franchise, with each film adding something to Ghostface's lore while cementing Scream as a cinematic horror institution.
