Things just keep getting worse in new teaser for The Walking Dead’s sixth season

We’re mere weeks away from the premiere of the sixth season of The Walking Dead, and AMC has released a sneak peek at the return of its post-apocalyptic zombie drama with a brief teaser that sets the mood for the next 16-episode story arc.

Titled “You Don’t Have A Choice,” the 30-second teaser showcases the threats from both zombies and fellow survivors alike that the cast will face in the upcoming season, which will kick off with a premiere featuring more than 650 zombies — a record for the series.

The upcoming season is set to bring back core cast members Andrew Lincoln as Rick, Chandler Riggs as Carl, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Steven Yeun as Glenn, and Norman Reedus as Daryl, as well as a long list of returning supporting cast members and newcomers to the series.

Among the other announced cast members for the sixth season are Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha, Lennie James as Morgan, Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel, Michael Cudlitz as Abraham, Josh McDermitt as Eugene, Alanna Masterson as Tara, Christian Serratos as Rosita, Tovah Feldshuh as Deanna, Ross Marquand as Aaron, Alexandra Breckenridge as Jesse, and Austin Nichols as Spencer. Characters played by Ethan Embry, Corey Hawkins, and Merritt Wever will all join the cast in the upcoming season, too.

Since premiering in 2010, The Walking Dead has earned 11 Primetime Emmy nominations and two Primetime Emmy Awards — both for makeup and prosthetic effects — as well as a Golden Globe nomination and multiple Screen Actors Guild Award nominations on the way to becoming one of the most popular cable television series in recent years. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name created by series producer Robert Kirkman, as well as Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The comic book series is still being written by Kirkman and published by Image Comics.

The Walking Dead recently welcomed a “companion series” to AMC titled Fear the Walking Dead, which serves as a prequel of sorts that unfolds on the opposite side of the country before and during the events of The Walking Dead.

The sixth season of The Walking Dead premieres October 11 on AMC.

Things get strange in Prime Video’s first Paper Girls teaser
Riley Lai Nelet in Paper Girls.

For nearly three years, Amazon Prime Video has been developing the Paper Girls comic book as a live-action series. Now, Prime Video has quietly dropped the first teaser from the adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and artist Cliff Chiang's original story. And if the visuals and Synthwave music give you Stranger Things vibes, then it's not a coincidence. This is a sci-fi show that starts off fairly grounded in the late '80s. From there, things will get very strange indeed.

The teaser video is very short, and it only offers the briefest of glimpses of the four main characters. First is Camryn Jones' Tiffany Quilkin, a young woman who takes her paper route seriously and only treats it as a job, not a calling. After Tiffany, we see Fina Strazza's KJ Brandman, and she can't hide her bitterness about the way her life has turned out. Sofia Rosinsky's Mac Coyle is the third girl in the video, and she seems to be disturbed by her capacity for violence. Finally, Riley Lai Nelet's Erin Tieng insists that she isn't like the other girls. She has people who count on her.

HBO Max’s Hacks season 2 teaser is testing out new material
Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart in Hacks.

The first season of Hacks quickly became one of the most popular original comedy series on HBO Max last year. Audiences just couldn't resist the two lead characters, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder). On paper, the two women have little in common beyond comedic chops. However, Deborah badly needed new jokes to freshen up her Las Vegas comedy act while Ava was haunted by an insensitive tweet she wrote years before that nearly destroyed her Hollywood dreams. But as Deborah's new comedy writer, Ava has a chance to prove herself again and put the controversy behind her.

The first teaser trailer for Hacks season 2 has arrived, and it shows us the ups and downs of Deborah and Ava's relationship. There are times when Deborah acts like Ava's best friend in the world, but as the trailer also shows, there are moments when Deborah's wrath toward Ava is intense and frightening.
