Where to watch Top Gun: Maverick

The year is 2022, and Tom Cruise, one of Hollywood’s last movie stars, sits atop the movie world once again with Top Gun: Maverick. The sequel to 1986’s Top Gun is the number one movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office with a gross of $1.7 billion.

It cannot be overstated how much of a success story Top Gun: Maverick has been. The gamble to postpone the film’s release date multiple times to ensure its theatrical release paid off as the film registered Cruise’s best opening weekend at the box office with a domestic gross of $124 million back in late May. After a three-month theatrical run, the film can finally be seen in your home, and we’re here to let you know how.

Is it worth watching Top Gun: Maverick?

Top Gun: Maverick | NEW Official Trailer (2022 Movie) - Tom Cruise

Yes! Set thirty years after the events of Top Gun, Cruise reprises his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, an excellent Naval aviator who continues to dodge advancement to remain a test pilot. Maverick is given one last shot to save his career when he’s assigned to train a group of TOPGUN pilots for a top-secret mission. One of the pilots is Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Maverick’s former RIO, “Goose,” who tragically died in the original film. Despite Maverick’s unorthodox methods, he’s still the best pilot, and it’s up to him to save the world from a potential catastrophe.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Spiderhead), Top Gun: Maverick has received rave reviews with many praising Cruise’s performance and the spectacular practical effects. Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, and Val Kilmer, who reprises his role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, round out the ensemble.

Where to watch Jaguars vs. Bills: NFL Week 3 Monday Night Football live stream
Josh Allen puts his hands in a hand warmer on the field.

It's a rare Monday Night Football doubleheader in Week 3 of the NFL's regular season. The first game of the night pits Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills (2-0). The broadcast booth will feature Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, and Louis Riddick. Laura Rutledge will provide updates from the sidelines, with rules analyst Jerry Bergman chiming in when unnecessary.

What is wrong with Lawrence? Two years ago, Lawrence was on his way to becoming one of the five best quarterbacks in football. Now, Lawrence is heading in the opposite direction, having lost seven consecutive starts. Meanwhile, Allen has firmly established himself as the second-best quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes.

Joe Burrow holds a football and sets up to throw.

Week 3 of the NFL season concludes with a special Monday Night Football doubleheader. In the night's second game, Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders (1-1) head to Ohio to play Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals (0-2). Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the call, with reporter Lisa Salters and rules analyst Russell Yurk providing updates throughout the night.

It wasn't a pretty Week 2 performance in Washington, but the Commanders managed to defeat the Giants 21-18 despite failing to score a touchdown. While Washington found a way to win, Cincinnati lost the game to the Kansas City Chiefs in the closing moments. After a pass interference penalty kept the Chiefs' drive alive, kicker Harrison Butker nailed a game-winning field goal to beat the Bengals 26-25.
