Amazon’s having a hush-hush sale on select Bose audio products

If you’re looking for gifts for dads, grads, yourself, or anyone else who appreciates good sound, Amazon has a wide selection of Bose products on sale with significant discounts today. Amazon’s Bose sale listings don’t include an end date and quantities may be limited, so if this deal appeals, don’t hesitate.

Amazon is not offering discounts on all Bose products. The “Get it by Monday, June 11” prompt under the Bose items might lead you to think everything is on sale, but that’s not the case. The date refers to a fast shipping option, not a sale end date.

Amazon Music expands spatial audio to more devices

Amazon has announced that its streaming music service, Amazon Music, is going to significantly expand the number of devices that let subscribers listen to tracks in spatial audio. Starting October 19, you'll be able to hear Dolby Atmos Music and Sony 360 Reality Audio (360 RA) tracks on both iOS and Android devices using any set of stereo headphones or earbuds. The move comes a few months after Apple Music added the ability to listen to spatial audio on all iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, MacOS devices, and select Android devices.

“We’ve always believed that the highest-quality audio possible should be the norm for streaming music," said Steve Boom, vice president of Amazon Music, in a press release, "and that’s why today, we’re making spatial audio available to our customers without any special equipment needed, and no upgrade required.”

On July 21, Apple released a new version of the Apple Music app for Android, bringing it up to date with the latest iOS features, specifically Apple's support for both lossless audio and spatial audio via Dolby Atmos Music.

But being able to access these new features will depend on the capabilities of your specific Android device. While lossless audio appears to be universally supported on Android phones, the same cannot be said of spatial audio.
