LCD Soundsystem, Ween reunite at Bonnaroo 2016, Pearl Jam to co-headline

EXCLUSIVE: Conan Announces The 2016 Bonnaroo Lineup - CONAN on TBS
The California Coachella crowd are not the only folks who will be able to catch a glimpse of the newly-reunited LCD Soundsystem this summer. The famed New York dance band will also appear at Tennessee’s popular Bonnaroo music festival, detailed in an official announcement on Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show.

Other big names who will perform at this year’s Bonnaroo fest include Pearl Jam, who just announced their U.S. tour dates this week, and Dead & Co, a John Mayer-fronted Grateful Dead spinoff band that includes three of the Dead’s original members who will play two sets. The Dead have close ties to the Tennessee music festival, with member Phil Lesh having headlined the inaugaral 2002 event with Bob Weir.

One of the biggest music festivals in North America, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is now in its 15th year. Last year’s iteration of the event hosted more than 80,000 attendees over the course of the festival’s four mid-summer days. Most attendees car camp on part of the festival’s 700 acre grounds, which features over ten stages on which they can catch performers big and small.

Aside from its headlining acts, this year’s ‘Roo features many of the music world’s biggest mainstream artists spanning across multiple genres. Other performers including J. Cole, Ellie Goulding, Tame Impala, Death Cab for Cutie, and Father John Misty.

But true to its locale, the festival will also feature plenty of Southern comfort, with highly-acclaimed country performers such as Jason Isbell, John Moreland, and Chris Stapleton all booked for big-stage sets this year.

Comedy performances, which have become a mainstay at virtually all major live music events, include Judd Apatow, as well as comedian and actor Ed Helms, who will once again host a Bluegrass Superjam at the festival.

Tickets for Bonnaroo 2016 go on sale a 12 p.m. EST on Friday, January 22, and more performers will be announced closer to festival time. The full list of artists and more information about the event can be found on Bonnaroo’s website.

Updated 1/21/2016: This article mistakenly stated that Phil Lesh is deceased. He has cancelled shows due to bladder cancer but is in the process of receiving treatment.

But what exactly is spatial audio? How is it different from (or the same as) Dolby Atmos? And what kind of audio equipment do you need to listen to it?

There's a lot of ground to cover, and some of it is a bit technical, but we're going to break it all down in easy-to-understand terms. You'll be a spatial audio expert in minutes, and you'll know exactly how to access this growing trend in movie and music streaming.

How to convert your vinyl to a digital format
Rebirth of cool: Is vinyl ready for a second wind, or just a fad?

It doesn't matter one bit if your vinyl collection consists of just a single milk crate or if it fills several Ikea Kallax shelves and is slowly taking over your home — we can all agree that there's just something about vinyl.

Maybe it's the warm, uncompressed sound spinning off a solid turntable, or the feel of holding a physical piece of art in your hands while the record spins — it's a special experience that has regained much of its glory in a world dominated by digital streaming. The problem is, records are fragile, and crates full of them don't fit in your back pocket.
