Check out the peppy debut single from Coldplay’s 7th, and possibly last, album

It will be less than a month until fans have a new Coldplay album buzzing around their heads, the British pop band has announced. A Head Full of Dreams, Coldplay’s seventh studio album, will officially hit digital and brick and mortar shelves on December 4.

Featuring collaborations with a wide array of musicians including Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, and Tove Lo, the latest record was recorded in two parts in London and Malibu, CA, with special production by Norwegian duo Stargate.

In addition to announcing the upcoming record, the group has released the first single from their new effort, an upbeat dance pop number called Adventure of a Lifetime, which lead singer Chris Martin says is a good indication of the vibe of the new album. In a recent interview with BBC1, Martin said A Head Full of Dreams was centered around, “The sound of us being free and happy and very grateful to be in our group.”

It’s interesting to get an album with such an outright happy electronic vibe from a band known for spacier, piano-driven songs like Clocks or Yellow. However, Adventure of a Lifetime is an impressive first taste of the album, and if it is indeed the blue print for the songs to follow, it should be well worth a listen.

Martin has also teased that A Head Full of Dreams might be the group’s last, or at that they might at least take a significant break after the upcoming tour to promote the record. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe Martin said, “It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that. Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something … I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”

Regardless of whether or not more music from Coldplay will follow, it should be exciting to hear the new record, if only to learn what the band can do with positive vibes in mind.

At WWDC 2021 (Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference), Apple officially added support for spatial audio with Dolby Atmos Music for Apple Music. But what exactly is spatial audio? How is it different from (or the same as) Dolby Atmos? And what kind of audio equipment do you need to listen to it?

There's a lot of ground to cover, and some of it is a bit technical, but we're going to break it all down in easy-to-understand terms. You'll be a spatial audio expert in minutes, and you'll know exactly how to access this growing trend in movie and music streaming.

How to convert your vinyl to a digital format
Rebirth of cool: Is vinyl ready for a second wind, or just a fad?

It doesn't matter one bit if your vinyl collection consists of just a single milk crate or if it fills several Ikea Kallax shelves and is slowly taking over your home — we can all agree that there's just something about vinyl.

Maybe it's the warm, uncompressed sound spinning off a solid turntable, or the feel of holding a physical piece of art in your hands while the record spins — it's a special experience that has regained much of its glory in a world dominated by digital streaming. The problem is, records are fragile, and crates full of them don't fit in your back pocket.
