How to watch the Disney Family Singalong: Volume II

ABC will air a second star-packed singalong of Disney songs on Mother’s Day. The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II will feature songs from Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Coco, The Little Mermaid, and more.

Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Shakira, Halsey, and Idina Menzel are among the artists scheduled to perform during the event. The words appear at the bottom of the screen, so you can sing along correctly instead of mumbling through parts of Friend Like Me from Aladdin. (“So dontcha sit there slack-jawed, buggy-eyed!”)

The first volume of the singalong aired on ABC on April 16, with performances from Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera, Darren Criss, and many others. The show was meant to raise awareness for the charity Feeding America. (You can stream it on ABC, if you missed it.)

Twitter lit up when Beyoncé made her surprise appearance to sing When You Wish Upon a Star in the first singalong, so you’ll want to tune in to see what else ABC has up its sleeve on Mother’s Day.

When does The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II start?

The singalong will air Sunday, May 10, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Everything you need to know before watching Andor on Disney+
Cassian Andor and the supporting cast in an Andor promo poster.

Lucasfilm's first major Star Wars series of the year only recently finished airing in the form of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but what could be one of the studio's most ambitious Disney+ series is just around the corner. Andor is (another) prequel story set during the age of the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion, this time focusing on Diego Luna's spy character Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It will detail his life as well as a fresh supporting cast in the years leading up to the events of Rogue One, but its season structure is what might be so ambitious about it. On top of seemingly boasting stronger VFX than what Disney+ rushed out recently, Andor has essentially been mapped out as a 24-episode series spread evenly across two seasons. It's somewhat refreshing to see a big-budget franchise show have a clear vision in mind from behind the scenes, and these are the things worth in-universe before going into its premiere.

Daredevil: How a Disney+ soft-reboot could tie up loose ends
Split image of Elektra, Daredevil, and Bullseye in the MCU.

From 2015 to 2018, Marvel's Daredevil had cemented its case for being some of the best TV that the comic book/superhero genre has ever produced. The show captured the essence of writer Frank Miller's crime-noir reinvention of the Man Without Fear in the early 1980s while blending it with the grit of a crime series you might find on HBO. Fans were disappointed once Netflix canceled it due to the impending arrival of Disney+ as a direct competitor, but this past December's Spider-Man: No Way Home and the streamer's Hawkeye series have brought both Matt Murdock and the Kingpin back into the MCU fold.

The show's seen a resurgence in popularity since being indirectly put back under the spotlight, with reports also now swirling of actors Charlie Cox (Kin) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket) appearing in other MCU projects before a rumored new solo series for Disney+. Getting into debates on canonicity can be as confusing as it is annoying and petty, though, it seems like Cox and co.'s revival will be in the form of a soft reboot. Marvel Studios will likely keep the same general continuity of the original show's story while simultaneously serving as a fresh jumping-on point -- much like a new comic book run on a character with a new writer/artist team. But even with a soft reboot, the ghosts of Daredevil's past, from complex love triangles to bitter arch-nemeses, can come back to haunt (or grace) the Devil of Hell's Kitchen on Disney+.

How to update your new Disney+ parental controls
The Defenders look at the camera in an elevator in The Defenders.

You may have heard that the Marvel TV shows that were formerly at home on Netflix have all come to Disney+ this week. There's just one hitch for the most family-friendly streaming service: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher are all TV-MA. And let's just say that they feature characters doing some very un-Disney-like things to each other. Sex and violence reach near R-rated levels, which is part of the appeal of these shows. That said, some parents may have legitimate concerns about what their children watch. Fortunately, we're here to help!

Disney foresaw some of these potential problems when it introduced its new Disney+ parental controls. It's also why Disney+ is automatically asking users to update their parental preferences when they log into the site. Keep in mind that the default setting is TV-14. If you don't opt to update any of your settings or if you click Not Now, then nothing will change. However, this is also your easiest opportunity to put the setting on TV-MA for everything that Disney+ has to offer. And make no mistake, these Marvel shows will probably not be the last mature content to be added in the future.
