Apple’s ‘spaceship’ campus coming along nicely, latest drone video shows

With another drone video surfacing showing progress on the construction of Apple’s striking ‘spaceship’ campus in Cupertino, it’s not hard to imagine that as the months go by the skies above it will gradually become a deafening mass of camera-equipped copters flown by crowds of Apple fans vying to get the best shots of the tech titan’s upcoming workplace.

The latest video to hit the Web comes from YouTube user ‘myithz,’ who describes the building as looking “like a donut.” While this is certainly not an inaccurate description, it’s a safe bet Apple CEO Tim Cook would prefer the more glamorous sounding ‘spaceship’ moniker.

The videographer doesn’t say what kit was used to capture the footage, though a GoPro Hero3+ Black edition mounted on a DJI Phantom 2 copter would certainly have made easy work of it.

The site for Apple’s new campus covers about 176 acres and is set to include office space across four floors, a research and development facility, fitness centers, dining facilities, an underground 1,000-seat auditorium, and grounds with jogging paths and around 7,000 trees.

The futuristic-looking structure, which will also feature a solar-paneled roof, will be the main workspace for around 14,000 Apple employees.

The bold project was the long-time ambition of company co-founder Steve Jobs, who championed the plan up until his death in 2011. Prominent UK architect Norman Foster came up with the final design, with the building set to open for workers in 2016.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
