Facebook users scour the social network for owner of lost Nikon camera

Facebook Photo Nikon Lost

Racking up over 45,000 shares on Facebook in less than 24 hours, a single photograph is quick spreading across the social network in order to help a man locate his lost digital camera. According to Roland Van Gogh, the Facebook user that posted the picture, his father-in-law found a cherry red Nikon Coolpix camera at a train station in the Netherlands. The Nikon camera contains over 2,800 photos of a trip throughout Europe as well.

Since 2012-06-15 he stayed in Amsterdam. We would like to give him back the camera and the photos. Please Like, Share and spread this photo around so we can give him back his camera! Thanks!

In addition to posting a picture of the camera owner with an unnamed female, Van Gogh also posted his email address at the bottom of the photo in case someone knows the owner of the camera.

In the first ten hours, the post had over 10,000 shares which comes out to about 3.5 shares per second according to Van Gogh’s estimate. Van Gogh also indicated that they might have a lead on the identity of the female in the picture as well, but hasn’t reported back in eleven hours. Beyond Facebook, the picture has spread to a variety of other sites including popular link-sharing site Reddit

If someone does find a lost camera, there are a couple blogs that specialize in attempting to locate camera owners. Ifoundyourcamera.net is a blog powered by WordPress that posts multiple photos from a lost camera as well as details such as the location the camera was found and the time of the discovery. CameraFound.com is a similar site that also posts orphaned pictures in addition to offering a world map with visual locations of lost cameras.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
