The world’s smallest selfie stick is cool enough to not be annoying

Hey Stick: The world's smallest selfie stick
Love them or hate them, selfie sticks are apparently here to stay. But at least with Hey Stick, a prototype selfie stick currently on Indiegogo, self-portrait aficionados will be able to easily conceal their weapon of choice when not in use. That’s because the Hey Stick measures just 6.3 inches long and is less than one inch in diameter, so it can be neatly stowed away in a purse or even a pocket.

Despite its diminutive size, Hey Stick is compatible with phones with screen sizes up to 5.5 inches and extends out to a maximum length of 25 inches. It is made entirely out of CNC-machined aluminum alloy (advertised as being very similar to the metal used in the iPhone) and boasts a color that closely resembles Apple’s “rose gold.”

If nothing else, the Hey Stick is a remarkably elegant device. Nothing interrupts its sleek, cylindrical exterior. Even the phone mounting bracket is contained within the 0.74-inch diameter of the body, without visible grip arms or hinges, which are often seen with other selfie sticks. A detachable Bluetooth remote lets users snap photos from a longer distance.

Additionally, the bottom of the Hey Stick is threaded so it can be attached to a bespoke table-top tripod for easy FaceTime sessions or for recording YouTube videos.

With fifteen days left in its Indiegogo campaign, Hey Stick has already raised $13,000 — easily passing its $10,000 goal. Early adopters can get the Hey Stick with a pledge of $19, while higher pledge levels come with multiple Hey Sticks. As with all crowdfunded projects, backers should proceed with caution, but it would appear that Hey Stick is well on its way to becoming a real product.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
