Olympus’ latest tutorial videos highlight capabilities of new OM-D E-M5 Mark II

Season 4: Episode 1 - Capturing motion with video
Olympus’ promotional/tutorial Anywhere Classroom series just came out with its fourth season, with its new OM-D E-M5 Mark II camera as the focus. The 16-megapixel camera is just as adept at still photos (including a 40-megapixel still photo setting) as with video, but the series pays a lot of attention to the latter.

Anywhere Classroom traveled to San Francisco where it used the action of skateboarders and the filming of a music video to show off the camera’s features, as well as some general and practical information for photographers behind any camera. The episodes focus on features such as the use of art filters, how to use Burst Mode, navigating the Super Control Panel, and selecting a variable frame rate.

Photographer and videographer Austin Lottimer hosts the series. He demonstrates how and why he uses the different settings. Season four has three episodes that entertain as much as educate viewers on how they can use the features of their cameras. There are also additional video tutorials accompanying each episode, which offer in-depth tutorials on how to use those features.

Season 4: Episode 2 - Shooting a music video

While the tutorials can help photographers across the board, they are somewhat specific to the E-M5 Mark II. The video clips show users how to navigate the menu to set up Bust Mode and Variable Frame Rates, among other features. Still, many of these settings can be found on other cameras – you just need to know where they are.

Previous seasons of Anywhere Classroom traveled to the Colorado Rockies with photographer Jay Dickman; Cape Ann, Massachusetts with Alex McClure; and coastal Massachusetts with Larry Price. All episodes focus on the newest Olympus camera at the time.

The fourth series is a must-watch if you’re a new E-M5 Mark II user – a camera we recommend. It is also a great resource for those in the market for a new camera as it offers a great deal of insight on the functionalities and features of the E-M5 Mark II. Besides the tutorial videos, you can check out photo samples from the San Francisco production.

In related news, Olympus is launching a new rewards program that lets customers earn points toward future purchases. The program also offers special savings. Points can be earned through purchases, birthdays, linking to Olympus’ social media accounts, submitting product reviews, friends and family referrals, etc. The points can be applied to various Olympus cameras and accessories, from the OM-D flagships to lenses and point-and-shoots. More details about the program can be found at Olympus’ website.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
