Traveling to the world’s top restaurants snapping food photos isn’t a dream vacation — it’s simply how the official Instagrammer for Chef’s Table will be spending their time.
To celebrate the second season of their original series, Netflix is opening up a contest to choose one food photographer to travel to six restaurants around the world, meet the chefs, and (of course) document the experience on Instagram.
The contest is only open to residents in southeast Asia, but the entry is simple: Follow @NetflixAsia on Instagram and add one of your own food photos with the hashtag #mychefstable.
The official My Chef’s Table Instagrammer will head to all six of the restaurants featured in season 2, which was released on May 27: Atelier Crenn (San Francisco), Alinea (Chicago), Dom (Brazil), Gaggan (Bankok), Pujol (Mexico), and Hiša Franko (Slovenia). Along with shooting (and eating) the dishes, the candidate will also get to meet the chefs, including Alex Atala, Gaggan Anad, and Grant Achatz.
According to the terms and conditions, the complete description of duties and compensation will be determined in an independent contractor agreement. Applicants must be 21, live in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, or Southeast Asia, and have both a public Instagram account and a smartphone (or any other Wi-Fi enabled device with an Instagram app).
Netflix says it’s not necessarily looking for fancy food. “We’re looking for a beautifully set Instagram shot that reveals what food means to you and, of course, makes us drool,” the contest page says. “The food doesn’t need to be high-brow, pretty, or your own; just consider what would make us want to sit down and enjoy the meal with you. Ideally, over a beautiful episode of Chef’s Table.”
Here are just a few of some of the entries so far:
