Pumpkin patches, apple cider, and leaves changing color — it’s fall, a favorite season for many people. The landscape of stunning reds, oranges, browns, and yellows inspires artists and photographers of all ages. If you’re searching for the best areas for fall foliage photography, Nikon says New York State is the top place to take your camera.

In order to rate the nation’s top states for fall photography, Nikon crowdsourced through popular social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, requesting members submit photos of the best spots for catching the beauty of this colorful season. After receiving over 2,000 submissions, from Maine to California, New York State (#NikonFallNY) led the competition with the most photographs. According to Nikon, the most notable submissions came from the Adirondack region, the Hudson Valley, and Letchworth State Park.

According to Lisa Baxt, Nikon’s associate general manager of communications, “Across the country, this is an exciting time of year as many people head outdoors to experience fall foliage and its incredible colors. Nikon was thrilled to be the catalyst that encouraged people to capture and share beautiful images of their autumn experiences.”

Pennsylvania’s forests and valleys, particularly in the Northeastern and Pocono regions, and North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Parkway placed those two states right behind New York. You can view the submissions on Nikon’s Facebook page, or by searching the hashtag #NikonFall followed by the state’s abbreviation on Twitter and Instagram. Also, if you want to up your fall photography game, Nikon shares tips for shooting autumn foliage on its site. While the information is geared toward Nikon cameras, the tips are applicable to any brand.

Best microSD cards in 2023: top picks for your computer, camera, or drone
galaxy s8 tips and tricks

MicroSD cards are an unsung hero in the mobile space. They provide extra storage space for your smartphone, but they're also key in tablets, drones, and security cameras. Unfortunately, this feature is falling out of favor in the smartphone space, and most flagship and midrange phones no longer have a slot to insert a microSD card. Even the most expensive phones around, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung S22 Ultra don't have a microSD card slot anymore. You're not even safe if you have an iPhone or iPad, as they've never had microSD card slots.

But all is not lost! Some of the best Android phones and best Android tablets do still support them, and they're still required for use with cameras, security cameras, and drones. But no matter which device you're buying it for, you'll want to get your hands on a microSD card from a reputable brand.
