Online photo service Shutterfly today announced some new enhancements for their customers who store digital images with them. Chief among these new features is a search technology which Shutterfly says will make it easier to find that one photo amongst the hundreds or thousands many digital camera owners have accumulated
The new search tool allows users to locate pictures under a multitude of criteria, including favorites, text, date range and images ordered on prints or other products. One criterion can be searched on, or all at the same time.
Other new features include the favorites mentioned above under search, which allows users to mark their most important photos, the ability to create a film strip so that all of the photos within in an album can be viewed using the scroll bar while the details of a single picture are still being viewed and customizable small, medium, or large picture views which allow photos to be visually scanned one at a time or as 12 larger thumbnails.
“Many customers have been with us since the launch of Shutterfly and they have thousands of images in hundreds of albums, spanning six years,” said Jeffrey Housenbold, President and CEO of Shutterfly. “We wanted to provide users with a superior experience for enjoying their entire collections — not just their most recent albums. We’re delighted to provide faster performance and simpler ways for consumers to find the pictures they love, when they want them — whether to use pictures for projects or share them with friends.”
