PORTLAND, ORE. – APRIL 8, 2014 – Today, Digital Trends, a leading consumer technology publisher, announces that consumer technology expert Jeremy Kaplan has joined as Editor-in-Chief, effective March 31. Based out of the company’s New York office, Kaplan will steer the direction of all of Digital Trends’ editorial content. Managing Editor Nick Mokey will continue day-to-day management of Digital Trends’ editorial staff of 40 full-time editors and freelance contributors.
Kaplan was most recently with FoxNews.com, where he led coverage of gadgets, computers, the online world, space travel, the environment, and more. During his time at FoxNews.com, Kaplan transformed a small section of the site into an essential source of daily news and traffic, tripling page views and unique viewers. Prior to joining Fox, Kaplan was executive editor of PC Magazine, co-host of the Fastest Geek competition, and a founding editor of the award-winning GoodCleanTech blog.
“Digital Trends’ growth is explosive and Jeremy has the expertise and passion we need to lead our editorial team through its current and future expansion,” said Ian Bell, Chief Executive Officer and Publisher at Digital Trends. “Jeremy’s leadership at FoxNews.com and Ziff Davis are extremely valuable to us. He’s an expert in the field of consumer technology and electronics and will help Digital Trends become the most popular destination for news, reviews, and insight into how tech is changing our lives.”
“It’s a great time to be joining Digital Trends,” said Kaplan. “The team has done a fantastic job of building a site that is accessible, informative, and entertaining.
