Digital Trends reveals inaugural Home Awards and 2015 winners

PORTLAND, ORE., September 30, 2015 – Leading consumer technology publisher Digital Trends has named the 2015 winners of its inaugural Home Awards, including innovative startups such as Roost and June and established brands such as Amana, GE, and LG. The Digital Trends Home Awards bring together the best in appliances and smart-home devices, highlighting design, value, and ease of use across 39 nominees and the 12 ultimate winners.

“We wanted to look at products through the lens of how our readers actually research and purchase them,” said Jenny McGrath, Home Editor at Digital Trends. “At the store, it’s easy to miss the best features amid a collection of dishwashers or ranges that might appear similar. So we highlighted the year’s smartest improvements — the dishwasher with an extra rack, the built-in Bluetooth syncing, the ingenious touch controls — to help guide shoppers. Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners!”

To pick the winners across six categories for appliances and smart home, Digital Trends editors and experts pored over features, tested functionality, and compared devices in its Portland test kitchen and product lab. In 2014, the company unveiled the 6,000-square-foot facility that includes a home theater, kitchen, bath, and laundry room where Digital Trends staff can test the latest gadgets and appliances and deliver the cutting-edge reviews its audience relies on.

The Digital Trends 2015 Home Award winners are:
