The Digital Trends Awards highlight the best of the best for consumers, revealing the greatest stuff from the confusing maze of tech gear. With its Top Tech of CES 2017 awards, presented at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Digital Trends will showcase the outstanding products as well as the truly bad-ass.

For a product to be eligible for inclusion, our editors will need to see and it use no later than Dec. 31st. If your product is coming, but cannot be seen until January, we require advance notice and a showing prior to the show opening.

We’ll choose multiple finalists across different product categories.

We will also give away a Best in Show award to the most interesting piece of tech at CES.

To be considered for the Digital Trends Top Tech of CES awards, products must be aimed at regular folks (not businesses) and make their formal debut at CES 2017. Products will be judged both on the innovative technology they bring forth and how that tech can enhance people’s lives in new ways. Multiple entries will be accepted, although we encourage you to submit only the products you feel are truly best-in-class. Digital Trends will honor embargoes and NDAs.

Winners will be revealed on Friday, January 6. We’ll hand out awards to all winners in person, at your show-floor booths.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing everyone in Las Vegas!

Come see Digital Trends at Booth #SL-4 at CES 2017!
Located at the top of the escalators in the south hall.

January 5 through 7, we’ll be live on air conducting interviews, playing with new products, and discussing the hottest tech at CES. Join us!

Thanks to several vaccines developed at mind-bending speed from our nation’s brightest scientists, there is at least a road map to the fight against COVID-19, which has already claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. But let’s be clear: It’s going to be a battle, and while the vaccine is rolled out and doctors and caregivers continue fighting, we must do everything we can to reduce the spread and limit the number of infections.

Fortunately, technology is there to help us. A variety of innovative companies and products coming to the CES 2021 show can help beat the novel coronavirus. Here’s a look at a few to keep your eyes on.

Tech for Change: New gadgets at CES 2021 finally bridge the language barrier

Tech has turned us all into travelers these days: Google Maps takes us anywhere in the world, while virtual meetings via Zoom and Teams let us interact with anyone, anywhere. But language remains a challenging topic, one tech is actively tackling.

The ability to speak any language, anywhere, at any time -- on a hike through the mountains, on a vacation in a foreign country, on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean -- would be transformative, something we call Tech for Change. And real-time translation is here in several ways today, thanks to machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud processing. That capability is on display in several devices at CES 2021.

Tech for Change: At CES 2021, tech promises to create clean, pure water for all
The AcquaTap from Exaeris

CES, the leading gadget show in the country, promises no shortage of new TVs, exoskeletons, headphones, and even emotional robots that might be a great companion for your child. But beyond the bleeding-edge gadgets and consumer electronics, there are a number of companies using high tech to solve the lowest of problems: There’s simply not enough clean drinking water in the world.

Some 20% of people reportedly lack access to drinking water, and can’t simply “turn on the faucet.” Meanwhile, corporations around the globe contaminate more water than they ever purify. Fortunately, tech can help, thanks to companies like Exaeris Water Innovations, which last year announced and this year plans to roll out the AcquaTap, a remarkable portable system for pulling water directly from the air all around you. The device can make up to 5 gallons per day, the company says.
