10 Instagram accounts that reveal what happens on the sets of your favorite shows

Instagram accounts of favorite shows
For a long time, Twitter has held the title of being the social network of choice when it comes to celebrities, but as time goes by, more of our TV favorites are turning to Instagram as well. It’s one of the many, more visual ways fans can get to know their idols on a level that’s more real than, say, a 140-character statement or rant.

On Instagram, actors love sharing photos of their seemingly normal lives, peppered with fun days spent with friends, significant others, family, and pets. They take photos that showcase their glamorous side, like at functions they attend where they rub elbows with Hollywood’s finest. And, just like the rest of us, they post Instagram shots while they work. Except of a boring shot of your new keyboard, we get to go on set with our favorite shows.

Here are a couple of celebrities that you should follow on Instagram who are known for occasionally shooting behind-the-scenes photos from their respective TV shows.

1. Aaron Paul

The show that catapulted the actor whom we all know better as the troubled Jesse Pinkman is less than a week away from ending forever, and it’s pretty damn sad – Breaking Bad is arguably one of the best shows to ever hit the small screen. However, you can always take a trip down memory lane through Paul’s Instagram feed, which has a couple of snaps taken on set.

When he’s not posting Breaking Bad-related stuff, he just goes on and posts things that proves what a stand-up and awesome guy he is in real life.

2. Norman Reedus

Reedus definitely got the role of a lifetime in Daryl Dixon, easily the most beloved character on a show about zombies, and for good reason. Onscreen he is a badass who secretly has a heart of gold and a penchant for family and loyalty. Offscreen, he loves posting Instagram photos of his fellow cast mates from The Walking Dead.

That, and he’s an animal lover. Swoon.

3. Ellen Pompeo

Another show that’s scheduled to come back for a new season is the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, whose title character Pompeo portrays. Despite only joining the Instagram bandwagon this year, she’s super psyched to be coming back onscreen, and she can’t help but post hints at what the upcoming season is about.

After 10 seasons of acting together, it’s not surprising that Pompeo has gotten close to her cast mates.

4. Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Can I just say… thank goodness for Modern Family. Thank you, “Mitchell,” for giving us a behind-the-scenes preview of TV’s most beloved brood, one that we all wish we could be a part of in real life.

This Instagram account may not belong to a specific actor or actress per se, but it’s been posting photographic footage of the popular Netflix original series while it’s shooting its highly anticipated second season.

And despite what the show portrays, when the cameras aren’t rolling, they’re all pretty friendly and goofy.

If you’re a fan of the super-popular show Pretty Little Liars and you desperately want to be part of their onscreen circle of friends even if it only means living vicariously through their Instagram posts, these two actresses are worth following.

If you like your leading men hot and sexy, then by all means, follow the guy who made Damon Salvatore the TV vampire worth lusting over. When he’s not posting selfies and funny screenshots, he posts about The Vampire Diaries, including Damon selfies.

8. Neil Patrick Harris

Now that we all know who the mother is, we want to know what happens next through the eyes of the Barney Stinson, played by the multi-talented and ever-lovable Neil Patrick Harris. Although he is what some may consider to be an Instagram newbie, his posts so far have all been pretty great – and yes, there are lots of How I Met Your Mother moments.

He also hosted the Emmys last night, so there’s a couple of backstage photos!

If you haven’t seen Scandal yet, then I implore you, go get a Netflix account and binge-watch the first two seasons now before the third one premieres early next month. It’s made of good stuff, trust me. And check out the Instagram account of Washington, who plays the onscreen political badass Olivia Pope and posts a lot of BTS photos.

10. Carson Daly

Are your Instagram Stories repeating? Here’s how to fix it
Closeup of the Instagram app icon.

Instagram Stories are repeating over and over again, giving users a severe case of deja vu. Under normal circumstances, whenever users post a new Story, their friends see that photo or video before moving on to the next person's Story or backing out. However, due to numerous complaints on social media on June 14, users are reporting a bug that causes Instagram to show them the same Stories every time their friends post a new one — resulting in a lot of repeating content.
What went wrong with Instagram Stories
Here's my example: A friend of mine, let's call him Joel, posted 17 stories within the last 23 hours and has posted another one. When I tap on Joel's Story icon, I should see only the most recent story. However, his story replays the first 17 stories I already swiped through between this morning and the time that I'm writing this.

Users have taken to Twitter to complain about Instagram Stories playing in an endless loop. Even fast-food restaurant Carl's Jr. contributed to the discourse with a picture of its mascot kicking, screaming, and crying over rewatching everyone's Stories from the beginning.

Here’s what’s new in Instagram’s ‘visual refresh’
Turned on smartphone with Instagram app icon on its screen.

It's not a new feature we wanted or particularly needed, but it's the one Instagram gave us this week.

On Monday, as part of what it calls its "visual refresh," Instagram announced a new typeface called Instagram Sans. And while it seems like it was mostly created for the photo-sharing app's branding and marketing purposes, the new font is also expected to show up in the app as well, specifically in Stories and Reels.
