Acrobat 9 Price Doubles In UK

You think things are tough financially? Try living in the UK, where gas has topped the $10 a gallon mark, and home energy prices are predicted to rise 40% this winter. And, for anyone wanting to buy the new Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, the equivalent cost is $1,424, according to Information Week – that’s compared to its $699 price at home.

Needless to say, that’s making British consumers a little unhappy. PC Pro loved the software but refused to recommend it, sating that "we’ve decided that it can’t get a PC Pro Recommended award for one simple reason: in the U.S., it costs $699. In the U.K., it costs £619. With VAT (value added tax), it actually costs £727 — more than the dollar price."
