This woman's GoFundMe asking for Powerball reimbursements just got shut down

You may not be able to depend upon the Powerball for deliverance, but what about the generosity of strangers on the Internet? Sadly, Tennessee native Cinnamon Nicole will never be able to find out, as the GoFundMe campaign she created to seek reimbursements for her unsuccessful bid at the jackpot has now been shut down. According to the now defunct page, Nicole and her family spent all their money on lottery tickets, “and are now in dire need of cash.” More shocking than this brazenness is actually the fact that the campaign managed to raise $800 before GoFundMe pulled the plug.

Clearly a manifestation of individual exceptionalism, Nicole clearly believed that, despite the oft-cited, next-to-impossible odds of winning the lottery, she and her family would be the lucky chosen. Writing that they expected “to win the 1.5 billion,” the Cordova, Tennessee, resident admitted that she had “exhausted all of [her] funds.” But hey, if you can’t win the lottery, why not try your luck elsewhere, right? Wrote Nicole, “With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like and one share, I’m certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again!”

Optimism clearly is not a problem for this family.

“PLEASE, won’t you help a family in need. DONATE NOW,” the campaign concluded, and a number of good samaritans clearly answered this cry for help (which will ostensibly just be turned into more lottery tickets).

Speaking with CNet, a GoFundMe spokesperson said, “The campaign in question was removed for a violation of GoFundMe’s Terms & Conditions,” and as such, all Cinnamon Nicole related donations were actually refunded. And as for Nicole, she now says that the page was never serious.

“Fbf I can’t even like/share anymore… My page is under review!!!” she posted on Facebook. “I Thank all of you who actually stuck by me and stood up for me, I appreciate it. People are so quick to judge without knowing or even considering anything other than their point of view. But this ain’t no serious post….Continue to bash, scorn/ scandalize my name ‪#‎ItIsWhatItIs‬ ‪#‎GoFundMe‬ ‪#‎YallReallyUpsetThough‬.”

After weeks of speculation, we finally know when Prime Day 2023 is kicking off. Amazon has announced that the event will start July 11 at 3AM ET and will run through July 12. As always, Prime members can score some fantastic deals from the sale with popular brands like Peloton, Victoria's Secret, YETI, and Sony just some of the names being touted by Amazon as featuring in the big sale. Members will also be able to shop more deals on small business products than ever before too. As always, expect great discounts on Amazon-owned properties like Kindles, Ring doorbells, Amazon Echo units, and so much more. It's the sale we've all been waiting for since Black Friday.

The Prime Day deals promise to drop every 30 minutes during select periods with deep discounts expected. Select discounts on other Amazon-related things are already available such as 20% off in-store purchases at when you spend $50 or more and . It's a small taste of what is no doubt to come with other Amazon properties likely to see discounts.

Another big sale is happening at the same time as Prime Day

Target just revealed that Target Circle Week will run from July 9 to July 15, overlapping with Amazon's Prime Day that's scheduled for July 11 to July 12.

The big sale event will be open to members of the retailer's Target Circle loyalty program, who will be able to receive discounts of up to 50% for certain items. If you're not yet a member, don't worry -- you can join at any time, and membership is free. Once you've signed up, you'll be able to earn 1% from every purchase to redeem at a later time, access exclusive deals, and get 5% off for your birthday, among other benefits.
