Site Owner Killed In Russia

In what might be very chilling news, journalist Magomed Yevloyev, who ran a site loudly opposing the Kremlin-back regime in Russia’s troubled Ingushetia region, has been killed by police, the Guardian reports.

Yevloyev ran the site Ingushetiya.ru, where he accused Russia of crushing free speech in the area.

According to reports, he flown into Ingushetian capital of Nazran from Moscow, and was met by police at the airport. Kaloi Akhilgov told Reuters:

"As they drove he was shot in the temple … They threw him out of the car near the hospital. He was discovered there and they quickly put him on the operating table, which is where he died."

The Interfax news agency cited an anonymous source to say Yevloyev had been shot accidentally and that prosecutors had opened an investigation.

Google’s coronavirus info site is live (but not as Trump described it)

Google finally launched a website to help streamline testing for coronavirus (officially called COVID-19) on Friday, March 20, following a bizarre introduction a week earlier in which President Donald Trump announced that Google was building the site -- and Google itself said it wasn't.

There are, in fact, two coronavirus-related websites that were recently launched by Google's parent company, Verily. First, there is Project Baseline, a screening site only for the state of California. Launched last week, it shows people how and where Californians in two highly affected counties can get screened for the disease and gives information on who is eligible for screening.

Amazon is reportedly stepping up its fight against third-party merchants who sell counterfeit goods on its platform.

The renewed effort includes handing more information about fake items to law enforcement -- and passing it on more quickly -- so they can better deal with offenders, a Reuters report said on Monday, January 13.

Google launched Google Shopping 100 on Tuesday, December 10, a microsite that highlights the top 100 trending products on Google in the United States.
Items on the site are organized by category, and the list highlights items that are rising in popularity when it comes to search, with the idea that those items are popular ones to give as holiday gifts.
Categories include tech, kitchen, toys and games, accessories and apparel, gaming, sports and fitness, home goods, and personal care. Top tech trending products, for instance, include a Google Home, Xiaomi Mi Note Smartphone, Nvidia Shield TV, and the Motorola Moto One Action Phone.
While a Google product definitely made it into that No. 1 slot, the list has some of its competition as well. Amazon’s Echo Dot Kids Edition is in seventh place and the Fire TV Cube is in eighth.

If you find something you like on the site, then clicking on it will give you info on where the cheapest place is to buy it as well as more general product information if you just need to know whatever that trending thing is (We may have needed a little help understanding some of the trending toys).
